RMG workers block Dhaka-Ctg highway

The workers of SF Garments took to the streets at about 9:00am and blocked the highway near Nayamati in Kanchpur area to press home their demand.

Traffic movement came to a halt on the both sides of the highway following the blockade, reports our correspondent from Narayangang.

Later, the workers withdrew the blockade at about 11:00am after getting assurance from the local police and the owners of the factory.

Office-in-charge of Sonargaon Police Station Mohammad Yunus Ali confirmed the report by saying that communication on the highway remained suspended for about two hours, causing severe traffic congestion.
